Victoria McCurdy

Victoria McCurdyVictoria McCurdy, a massage therapist since 1997, began practicing Pilates six years ago to alleviate her  own job related hip pain.  During her first “Mermaid with Rotation” on the Reformer she felt immediate relief.  Within months she was pain free, and began to refer her massage clients to Pilates.

Victoria brings 14 years as a massage therapist and former massage instructor to her style as a Pilates trainer, combining her client’s goals with her  knowledge of the body to program each session.

She feels Pilates positively influences her clients posture and alignment through strengthening and lengthening  the muscles and fascia. She views the body as a dynamic suspension system, quite capable of change.

“Whether their goal is to achieve the perfect “Teaser”, improve their time on a 5k, or  have the body confidence to pick up a grandchild,  Pilates helps my clients move through their lives, literally, with dignity and grace.”

Victoria has completed training for Essential and Intermediate Reformer, Mat, and Cadillac with Stott Pilates.  She also practices Rehabilitative Massage for Pain and Injury and is a Certified Prenatal Massage Therapist. She has attended countless workshops including Tom Meyers “Anatomy Trains”, Neuromuscular Technique, and the Cadaver Labs at Northwestern University in Bloomington. She received a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from Macalester College.
