There are many ways to begin your movement practice at Core. Whichever you choose, we want you to get the best out of your experience and have fun while being here.
1. Start with a Beginning Mat Class.
This class is designed for the true beginner and teaches the principles and essential mat work over the course of 6 weeks. Mat work is often considered the backbone of all pilates work.
2. Start your practice with Private Training.
At Core we offer individual sessions that are tailored to your specific goals and needs. Trainers generally teach privates on all pieces of equipment — Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels and TRX. These sessions can also be used to join the Group Reformer classes that we offer.
3. If you have completed a Beginning Mat Series:
a. Most people can then move into an Intermediate Mat Class. Purchase a Core Card for 10 classes and drop-in to any of the Intermediate Level Mat Classes. The Core card can also be used to drop-in to the Beginning Level Mat Classes for a refresher on the basic principles behind the exercises. Or if you feel the need to slow things down and relax, use the Core Card, try Yoga with Gabrielle or come to our Breathe and Relax Class.
b. Take the Intro to Reformer Class. This class teaches the basic reformer exercises in a group setting. Perfect if you do not have Group Reformer Class experience and are looking to join one of our ongoing Reformer Group Classes.
4. Movement Repatterning
If you are looking for a more rehab-orientated experience, take a session of Movement Repatterning. In these sessions, we start with fascial release work and then integrate it into the body with specific movement. These sessions are designed to teach the body to move without injury or pain.
5. Combine all of these for a well rounded Pilates practice!
